Stoke Place's grounds, consisting of 26 acres of garden leading down to a 6 acre ornamental lake, were designed by Capability Brown at the height of his fame. Landscaped to give a sense of staged informality the garden is an impressive backdrop to a country manor so close to London.

Enjoy an afternoon picnic under the shade of the trees or private dining and barbeques for larger groups by the lake. Garden menus include summer salads, meats on the grill, hog roasts, all washed down with champagne and summer punches. Every Sunday afternoon in the month of August there will be a barbeque on Stoke Place’s lawn. Enjoy the sunshine lounging by the lake, laying on the lawn or up on the terrace and feast on barbeque meats, summer salads and refreshing drinks.
