Someone quite clever once said a garden is solace for the soul. Well, at Stoke Place we've enough gorgeous green space to make calm the most turbulent of souls. At the height of his fame, Capability Brown meticulously contrived the grounds surrounding Stoke Place in his characteristic style to give a sense of staged informality.
Budding botanists and twitchers should be satisfied as the Stoke Place grounds are clearly a hit with the flora and fauna. As well as the locals; Roe deer, badgers and woodpeckers, there are the less expected - the wild green parakeets certainly took us all by surprise when they first appeared. Outdoor pursuits are plentiful; fish thrive in the ornamental lake, Clay Pigeon shooting is available. Many guests simply choose a gentle stroll to explore all our grounds and gardens have to offer.
